God in Three Persons

A lot of big issues to write about, but you know what? You've heard them all before and I can't add anything interesting. Instead, a recommendation: a fine new record by an outfit called Mylab, which consists of keyboardist Wayne Horvitz and just about everyone else on the Downtown avant-jazz scene. It sounds something like his wonderful early band The President, tuneful, engaging and electric, as spirited as rock 'n' roll but with jazz nuances. Yes, in some ways it's a typical Knitting Factory reference-fest, but it's a hell of a lot of fun to listen to.

The Ground Wants You Back

I've been quiet. Mrs. WTJ got sidelined by sinuses and we spent the holiday watching movies, with yours truly ducking out every ten minutes to work on Secret Thing #1. A big chunk of it, maybe the biggest, is now done (I think, I hope). Now I just have to do everything else!

More to say, but no real will to say it. Later, I promise.
